Obituaries

Of Pinckney, formerly of Chelsea, MI, age 68, passed away Saturday, August 16, 2014 at the University of Michigan Hospital after a long illness. He was born August 20, 1945 in Huron, South Dakota, the son of Lloyd & Frances (Grimes) Langbehn.

Bill LangbehnBill graduated from Huron High School in South Dakota in 1963. He earned an accounting degree from Cleary College in 1971. He worked at Sweepster Brooms as the accounting manager for 36 years, retiring in 2001. Bill owned numerous street rods and enjoyed participating in car shows.

On August 19, 1967, he married Sandra L. Nuttle, his wife of 46 years, in Ann Arbor, and she survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Tracy (Gene) Langbehn-Weincouff of Pinckney; his mother, Frances Langbehn of Huron, SD; four grandchildren, Noah and Brooke Langbehn, Garrett & Hannah Weincouff; four sisters, Gloria (Charlie) Roberts of PA, Judy Ulvestad of SD, Thez Langbehn of SD, Mary Ann Langbehn of ID; a brother, Dennis (Val) Langbehn of IA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Robert “Rob” Langbehn, and his father, Lloyd Langbehn.

Funeral services were held Thursday, August 21, 10:30 am at Cole Funeral Chapel, Chelsea, with Pastor Peter Harris officiating. Burial followed at Washtenong Memorial Park, Ann Arbor. The family received friends Wednesday 2-4 and 6-9. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association of Michigan, 300 Galleria Officentre, Suite 111, Southfield, MI 48034.
