Obituaries

of Napoleon, Michigan, age 76, died Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at his home with his family by his side. He was born April 26, 1938 in Grass Lake, Michigan , the son of Charles & Thelma (Jones) Dorr.

Duane worked on ore boats in the Great Lakes when he was young.  He worked at Rockwell in Chelsea for 29 years, then worked for Ann Arbor Machine for 14 years and Tuttle Springs for 8 years.  He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and snow mobiles, as well as most sports.


On November 7, 1959, he married Lucy Fullerton, and she survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Cheryl (Bill) Whitehead of Tecumseh, Linda Inman of Munith; a brother Howard Dorr of Chelsea;  a sister, Catherine Kistler of Munith; five grandchildren, Michael (Jaime) White, Alissa (Ryan) Mottmiller, Megan Whitehead, Nicole (Caz) Rogozinski, Billy Whitehead; eight great-grandchildren; one aunt, Micky Tingay; and many nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Buddy and Steven.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 2, 1:00 pm at Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea, with Pastor Dave Cornwell officiating.  Burial followed at Roseland Memorial Gardens near Jackson, Michigan.  The family received friends Monday 2-4 & 6-8 pm.  Memorial contributions may be made to Great Lakes Hospice, 900 Cooper St, Jackson, MI 49202.
