Obituaries


Age 92, proud U.S. Marine (WWII) and American citizen, died peacefully Friday, April 22, 2016 after and extended illness. She was born October 24, 1923 in Peterhead, Scotland, the daughter of Robert & Ann (Henderson) Anderson.  Maggie immigrated to Highland Park, MI in 1929.  She graduated from Highland Park High in 1941 and served the U.S. Marine Corps as a Corporal throughout WWII. Maggie was passionate about her work at Henry Ford Middle School and Graebner Elementary. She also loved her time and friends at her cottage in Stoney Point, Canada.

In 1949, she married Paul McCrossin in Detroit, Michigan, and he preceded her in death in October of 1996. Survivors include a son, Paul McCrossin of Harrison Twp, MI; two daughters, Ann (Robert) Valle of Chelsea, MI, and Kathleen (Gerald Gangle) McCrossin of Sitka, AK; four grandchildren, Zachery and Samantha McCrossin and Alex and Maggie Valle; special nieces, Marilyn, Maggie, and Judy; and many friends. In Maggie's memory go fishing, take a long walk or stand on your head.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 30 at VFW Post 1146, 28404 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores. Luncheon followed at Andiamo, 7096 E. 14 Mile, Warren. Arrangements by Cole Funeral Chapel in Chelsea.
