Wallace Roy Gravelyn, 99 years young, passed away on Good Friday, March 29, 2024. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, one of 9 brothers. His mother died in childbirth. In the midst of the depression, he learned to become self-reliant. He enlisted in the Air Force in World War II, completing 40 missions in a B-24 over Romania, Hungary, and Germany. After the war, he enlisted in the Michigan National Guard rising to the rank of Captain.

After meeting our mother, Lois House, they eloped and went on to have five children; Thomas, David, Michael, Daniel, and Susan over the next 7 years. He and our mother focused all of their efforts on showing their children the meaning of family and how to be good people. He is survived by his sons Thomas, David, and Michael and their wives, Lee, Laurie and Maggie, respectively as well as his grandchildren; Jessica, Tara, Christopher, Jori, Megan, Aaron, Jason, Lauren, and Sara. A celebration of life service will be held at Ada Congregational Church on Saturday, June 1st at 11:00 am. All family and friends are welcome.
